I've been in Southern Cali for the last week and a half or so with my man, Adam. We started things out with a conference in San Diego and stumbled upon some gems there like the Coffee & Tea Collective, an awesome Kodaline concert at The Casbah, dinner/drinks at Craft & Commerce, Supper Club at Green Flash Brewery, and the infamous AleSmith Brewery. After six days in San Diego, we hit the road towards LA and visited some of Adam's endearing and entertaining family. Good times eating sushi, drinking at Auntie Lata and Uncle Mario's, and having breakfast at the Grandparents'. Following the LA visit, the craziest mega-flu took over me, and I'm just now returning to human form 9 days later. Because of the mega-flu, we cozied up for two nights in a quaint little cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains called The Rusty Boot. It is a perfect place for unplugging, resting, and relaxing. I highly recommend a visit.
We dug ourselves out of some snow and drove ourselves on to Death Valley next. Death Valley offers some of the most beautiful and strange landscapes I've ever seen!! Unfortunately, because of some bad weather, road closures, and my unforgiving sickness, we had to nix some of our planned destinations and rearrange the route. But we had a blast anyways, and now we have an excuse to get back to Death Valley to actually see Titus Canyon and the Racetrack!
